Gratitude and My Gift to You
Hi Health-Seeker,

Wow.  It's Thanksgiving again here in the USA!.

This year has flown by.  We've had a sudden cold spell and I am wrapped in heavy sweaters trying to stay warm.  As you read this, I will be on a plain en route to Massachusetts for a family Thanksgiving. Due to the holiday, we will not have a radio show this week.

My feature article this week is on appreciation and Thanksgiving rituals.

I am very grateful to you, for being a part of my life and my mission.

You are special, beautiful and a gift to the world.  Give yourself the gratitude you deserve.

I truly wish you a joyful day.

As a token of my appreciation, I am giving you access for an additional 72 hours to my latest VITAL Healing Kitchen video demonstrating “sushi”  raw vegan style:

The Potent Healing Power of Thankfulness, Appreciation, and Gratitude

If you’re low on energy and need a boost, I have a tip for you.  Gratitude has been shown to balance your biochemistry in profound ways, leading to improved immune system, hormone balance and energy.

Thank You card with fall leaves

So how does it work?

Not only do thankfulness and appreciation feel good to give and receive, studies conducted by the Institute of Heartmath confirm that appreciation induces a change in your heart rhythms that synchronize your heart and brain, thus facilitating your mental and intuitive faculties and inducing the release of nourishing bio-chemicals that enhance your immune system, and trigger regenerative hormone changes. Therefore, appreciation is an important part of living a healthy and vibrant life, free of chronic fatigue and hormone imbalance.

Because you’re less stressed-out when you’re in a state of appreciation, you allow your hormones to come into balance and become more resilient against fatigue and aging.

The Heart-Math Institute says, “The intelligence of the heart is that solid, clear awareness we experience when our emotions, mind and body are in sync.”

Ashwaganda – A Versatile Herbal Adaptogen

Ashwaganda, aka WIthania Somnifera, is an ayurvedic herb native to India.  It's widely used as a therapy for hypothyroidism, as an adrenal adaptogen and a liver support herb.

It's multi purpose platform makes is a dream to work with and soon becomes a favorite among clients.  According to David Winston, Ashwaganda has also been used for low sperm count, lack of libido and poor performance in the bedroom.  Some indigenous African  people use it for infectious disease like typhoid and syphilis and/or women who have repeated miscarriage.

It's widely used to induce hormone balance, as an antimicrobial and anti inflammatory and for autoimmune conditions.  David Winston uses it along with kudzu, cyperus and black cohosh for fibromyalgia.

Ashwaganda is one of my favorite herbs, and it can be used as a tincture, as a decoction, as a powdered extract added to smoothies and elixirs, and as capsules.  My favorite is to add to elixirs.  The only caution with Ashwaganda is for people who have a tendency towards hyperthyroidism, and those that are of an excessively hot constitution.

Learn lots more about Ashwaganda and all it's uses as well as other adaptogens at my S.H.I.N.E. conference in January, where David Winston, master herbalist, AHG,  will be a guest speaker.  The conference will equip you to more effectively get results with your clients by addressing their hormone imbalances.
