Not only is this salad dressing very adaptable, but it is also heart-healthy. It offers a creamy, garlicky punch that improves any meal, whether it is drizzled over grilled meals, used as a dip for veggies, or dressed over fresh salads.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds soaked 6 hours or overnight
  • 1/4 cup flax oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup Chia Gel
  • 1 clove black garlic
  • ½ cup water to desired consistency

Instructions
 

  • Put all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Start with ½ cup water and adjust to desired consistency.
  • Add additional seasonings if desired.
  • Variations:
  • Italian: Add 1/2 teaspoon each dried basil, oregano and thyme and a clove of garlic.
  • Asian: Use sesame oil, some miso, ginger and some tamari if desired.
  • Mexican: Use lime juice instead of lemon and add cilantro, cayenne, and cumin.
  • Thai: Substitute lime juice and add coconut, lemongrass, cilantro, ginger, garlic and a dash of cayenne.
