My cucumber shake is a wonderful alternative to the typical sugar- laden summer soft drinks that are so harmful to the body.Â
The vitamin A in cucumber supports the immune system while the vitamin K aids in bone health.Â
Both the cucumber and basil are loaded with antioxidants that have anti-inflammatory properties in addition to an alkalizing effect on the body, helping to bring it into balance. Â
The lime juice provides additional immune support and detoxification benefits.
As with all my recipes, I encourage you to make it your own by playing with the ingredients until they are to your liking. No rules apply!

Ingredients:Â
1 cucumber, washed and peeled and cut into small piecesÂ
Handful basilÂ
3 tablespoons lime juiceÂ
Ice cubesÂ
Optional: more water, ½-1 avocado, mint, blueberries, ginger, turmeric, slice jalapeno
Directions:Â
1. Blend cucumber using tamper.Â
2. Add basil, lime juice, and ice cubes and blend.Â
3. Add any of the optional ingredients and blend.
